For more than ten years, Mary Lou Gould has been fighting multiple cancer battles, one after another. Throughout her journey, she has been a positive force within herself and within our community by becoming a peer counselor. “This is my hospital. I use the word love when I talk about Island because the people here genuinely care and their compassion is authentic,” states Mary Lou.  “It is powerful to have faith that they are doing everything they can to make me well. My heart says, thank you to each and every person who has directly or indirectly provided care for me over the years. Your programs enriched my life, thanks to the [Cancer Patient Medical Relief Fund].”

You made it possible for Mary Lou and many others to get the additional support they needed. You gave them the ability to find strength and positivity when they needed it most and we thank you.
