Island Health has undergone a major update to facilities to enhance emergency services so you, your loved ones and neighbors have access to emergency care when needed most.
Island Health has relocated the helicopter pad from the north parking lot to the roof of our Acute Care Unit. This project also includes updates to the Emergency Department (ED) and Main Entrance (24th Street). IHF is proud to support this effort with a major gift of $1.5M. Key highlights and benefits of the project include: relocation of the helicopter pad to the roof so that it is closer to the Emergency Department, enhancements to the building security for our patients and staff, improvements to the flight paths for airlifts, creation of a true “front door” to Island Health on 24th street, enabling expansion of the 24th street parking lot for expanding clinic space, and improvements to patient flow and wayfinding.
Your support has helped us transform emergency care at Island Health and creating a healthier community for you, your loved ones and neighbors.
