A Special Delivery: New Lab Courier Vehicle Arrives at Island Health

Thanks to the generosity of Mazda of Everett and Ron and Sally Carr, the Island Health Laboratory received an early Christmas present back in December—a brand new courier vehicle!

The lab courier car plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in ensuring that lab specimens are picked up and delivered quickly, safely, and efficiently across our region. From transporting vital diagnostic samples to keeping routine testing running smoothly, this vehicle helps support timely, high-quality care for our patients.

When the lab’s previous courier vehicle began showing its age—becoming increasingly unreliable and costly to repair—the need for a replacement became urgent. That’s when the Foundation stepped in, partnering with Mazda of Everett to make sure the lab team had what they needed to continue this essential service without interruption.

This kind of support is what makes our community strong. We’re incredibly grateful for the partnership and generosity that made this possible.

A heartfelt thank you to Mazda of Everett, and Ron and Sally Carr for helping keep healthcare moving forward—literally.
